FAST TRACKING TO EMPLOYMENT WORKSHOPS Our workshops involve presentations, small group discussions, individual activities and a wide range of instructional aids. Come prepared to participate with a group of ten to fifteen people. You may be given an assignment to be completed prior to the workshop. Additional homework may also be assigned.

	WORKSHOP	TIME	DESCRIPTION
	Career Assessment	( 1 day )	Career assessment allows you to understand your interests, values and abilities in relation to the general population. Your results will guide you in your occupational exploration.
	Career By Design	( 2 weeks )	Career By Design provides the opportunity for you to explore career options and learn how to make a career decision through self-assessment, research and goal setting. Back to top
	Work Search	( 2 weeks )	The purpose of the Work Search workshop is for you to create a personal portfolio including a resume, reference list and cover letters; learn how to plan and carry out an effective job search; and practice your interview skills. The techniques used in the Work Search program are the most effective and direct method to obtain employment.
	LifeWorks	( 4 weeks )	This workshop is offered to Income Assistance recipients. Lifeworks combines career exploration/planning and goal setting with personal development skills such as communication, problem solving, and decision making. The purpose of LifeWorks is to provide you with an awareness of your skills, values and interests as well as to assist you in developing a personal and career plan.

	Cover Letters	( 1 day )	Develop a customized letter showing the employer you have the skills they need and that hiring you will benefit their business!
